2012-13 Marching Band Announcements Updated

Schedule for Week of 9/24 to 9/29

 

UPDATE!!!! - Uniform for Friday night (PEP BAND ONLY) will be band t-shirt, jeans, and band shoes.  You may wear a long sleeve shirt (red, black or white) underneath your band t-shirt for warmth if you wish.  We will also most likely be wearing raincoats on top. 

 

Friday, 9/28 - Symphonic Band - Per 4; Wind Ensemble - Per 5; Concert Band - Per 6.

 

Pep Band performance at Indians Hills.  Report time for Pep Band is 5:30pm.

 

Saturday, 9/29 - Rehearsal and Band Photo Day (updated on 9/27/12)

 

10:00am - Individual photos begin for those who ordered.  Please arrive ready for picture.

 

11:00am - Group Photo.  All present in full uniform, minus busbies/berets/instruments.  Line up from tallest to shortest.

 

11:30am - Lunch break.

 

12:30pm - Rehearsal begins - Main field - Bring cases - Do not leave any belongings inside 

 

4:00pm - Rehearsal ends - Instruments go home for weekend practice.

Schedule for Week of 9/24 to 9/29

 

Monday, 9/24 - Period 5 rehearsal.  Working on drill from Beginning to Letter A.

 

Tuesday, 9/25 - Period 5 rehearsal. Working on drill from E to G.

 

Wednesday, 9/26 (no school) -

 

Drumline only (10am to 12pm)

Officer lunch/meeting (12pm to 1pm)

Full ensemble rehearsal (1pm to 4pm)

 

Thursday, 9/27 - Period 5 rehearsal.

 

Friday, 9/28 - Period 5 rehearsal.  

 

Pep Band performance at Indians Hills.  Report time for Pep Band is 5:30pm in full uniform.

 

Saturday, 9/29 - Rehearsal and Band Photo Day

 

9:00am - Individual photos begin.  Follow separate schedule for report times.

Schedule for Week of 9/17 to 9/22

 

Monday, 9/17 - No school - Priority rehearsal (9am to 1pm)

 

Tuesday, 9/18 to Friday, 9/21 - Period 5 rehearsals.  Cheesecake meeting in auditorium Pd. 5 on Wednesday.  Schedule subject to change.  Check the board daily.

 

Wednesday, 9/19 - Priority rehearsal (3:15pm to 6pm)

 

Saturday, 9/22 - Home Football Game vs. Pascack Valley - Full Marching Band

 

8:00am - Rehearsal at BHS

 

11:00am - Lunch break

 

12:00pm - Meet in auditorium in full uniform with instrument

 

12:30pm - Outside in stands to watch visiting band perform

 

1:00pm - Perform National Anthem and kickoff

 

2:15pm (estimated) - Perform halftime show (First complete performance!)

 

3:30pm (estimated) End of game - Meeting in auditorium - Dismissal

Schedule for Week of 9/10 to 9/15

 

Wednesday, 9/12 - Priority rehearsal (3:15pm to 6pm)

BHS Parents' Night/Open House is this evening at 7pm.

 

Friday, 9/14 - Football Game vs. Ramapo (AWAY) - Pep Band ONLY

(Pep Band is most seniors and select underclassmen, who have been notified of their participation)

 

3:00pm - ALL Marching Band members must load their instruments on band trailer for West Point

 

5:30pm - Pep Band reports to Band Room in full uniform

 

5:45pm - Depart for Ramapo HS for 7pm game

 

10:00pm - Estimated return to BHS

 

Saturday, 9/15 - West Point Band Day Performance - Full Marching Band

 

5:45am - Arrive at BHS in full uniform.  Wear black band t-shirt underneath.  Bring a bag lunch or money for lunch at concession stand.  You may also bring breakfast/snacks on the bus.  We will loading the buses directly and not be entering the school.

 

6:00am - Buses depart for West Point.  We will wait for NO ONE!

 

7:15am - Arrive at West Point.  We will rehearse with the West Point Band and other HS bands.  Afterward, we will have time to explore the US Military Academy as a group, observe game day events and eat lunch.

 

12:00pm - Kickoff.  The USMA Band Day performance will occur at halftime.

 

3:30pm - Estimated end of game.  Approximately 30-60 minutes after the game, the buses will meet us at the stadium.  We will load the buses and return to BHS.

 

6:00pm - Estimated arrival back at BHS.  We will not enter the school upon arrival.  Students will be instructed to call parents when we are 15-30 minutes away.  Please pick them up promptly upon arrival.

 

Parents who wish to attend the performance may contact our representative at Army Athletics directly for tickets.  Due to space constraints, transportation for all parents, friends and family is their own responsibility.

Home Football Game vs. Northern Valley-Demarest

7:30AM   Band Room opens
8:00AM   In attendance block/Rehearsal begins
-You must have your instrument, coordinate sheet, and water jug
11:00AM   Lunch break/get dressed into uniform
-You may go home for lunch and get dressed there (RECOMMENDED)
-If you stay at school for lunch, put your uniform in the auditorium before 8am.
12:00PM  Dressed in uniform and ready-to-go in the Band Room
-Wear black band T-shirts underneath
-Belts will be handed out at this time
12:30PM   In the stands to watch NVD band perform
1:00PM   Pre-game music/kick-off
2:00PM (estimated)   Halftime show
3:30PM (estimated)   Game ends/March to Band Room/Meeting
4:30PM (estimated)   Dismissal
