2016-17 Marching Band Announcements Updated

Congratulations on a wonderful season!  Our final performance of Around the World in 80 Days will be a standstill in the gym as the finale for the Fall Concert on Tuesday, November 22.


Our Band Dinner will be held on Monday, November 28 from 6-10pm at the Clinton Inn in Tenafly.  Payment of $40 and permission form are due by Monday, November 21 at 3pm.  This event is optional, but highly recommended.

Initial $100 deposits were due on Friday, September 30.

Installment payment #1 for $300, minus any credits, was due on Monday, November 14.

2016-17 Marching Band Announcements Updated

Week of November 7, 2016


Friday, November 11 - Away Football Playoff Game @ Ramapo HS

 

Report to BHS at 4:30pm in full uniform.  We will load trailer and depart by 5pm.  You may eat before you arrive and/or bring a bag dinner to eat on the bus.  We will perform our show before the game at approximately 6:30pm.  Students may visit the snack stand, however sometimes schools run out of food during playoff games, so do not rely upon them for your meal.


Our anticipated return to BHS will be 10:00pm.


Saturday, November 12 - US Bands National Championships @ MetLife Stadium


Report to BHS at 2:00pm for rehearsal in rehearsal attire.  We will rehearse from 2-4pm, then debrief and load the trailer.  Dinner break will be 4:30-5:30pm.  You will be dismissed after the trailer is loaded.  The school will open until the end of rehearsal, but not when we return.


You should add UnderArmour or other warm layers under your uniform.  A light second pair of socks is also suggested.  Bring jackets, hats, blankets, hand warmers, and scarves.


Return to BHS in full uniform at 7:45pm.  Buses will depart at 8:00pm.


Upon arrival at MetLife, we will enter the stadium to watch some Group V and VI bands.

The following items MAY be brought into the stadium:

  • Food of any kind that is contained in a clear plastic bag
  • Factory-sealed, plastic bottles of water or soft drinks that are 20 oz. or less in size 
  • Still-photography cameras with a lens that is 6" or less in length not contained in a case
  • Hand-carried jackets, blankets, or other items, which will be patted down or searched

We will warm-up in the parking lot prior to our performance.  Our performance time is 11:30pm.  We are the last band to perform.  Following the performance, we will attend the awards ceremony on the field, load the trailer and depart for BHS.  


Our estimated return to BHS will be 1am.  Please inform your family in advance so that I don't receive angry phone calls/emails on Monday or have to wait for you to be picked up.

 

Tickets for MetLife are $35 at the gate, however they are available on Charms for $30 until noon on Saturday.  All guests 34" or taller must have a ticket.  There is no parking fee for this event.

 



Dallas Brass residency in the Bergenfield Public Schools is Monday, November 14 and Tuesday, November 15. There will be concerts both evenings.  The Monday concert will feature the RWB bands and the Tuesday concert will feature the BHS bands.


Tickets are $15 at the door.  Bergenfield music students are admitted free.
